Murder Americans Not Affect Tourism

TRANSINDONESIA.CO – Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika stated that the murder of citizens of the United States Sheila Ann Von Weise (64) does not affect Bali tourism since the case was caused by internal factors victim’s family.

“There is no impact. Persons also know and understand,” he said in Denpasar, yesterday.

He urged people not to state that the security on the island disrupted by the incident because the cause is an internal factor considering it is the woman responsible for the death of Tommy Schaffer (21) and Heather Louis (19), which is an in-law and child victims.

Pastika only hope that the case can be revealed for the information society and the efforts of the police.

“So do not blame the security forces and assume security is not good. Importantly case was exposed,” said the former head of the Bali Police.

The number one in the ranks of the Bali provincial government declared that the deaths of foreign tourists due to illness and homicide is difficult to detect by security forces.

He revealed that the security will suffer in case of robbery or kecopetan that will cause problems.

Sheila Ann Von Weise found dead and his body was stored in a large suitcase on Tuesday (12/8/2014).

The incident began when Tommy ordering a taxi and insert themselves into the bloodstained suitcase in the trunk of a taxi in front of the lobby one of the luxury hotels in Nusa Dua, Badung, where all three stay.

After waiting for two hours, the two do not show up to the hotel lobby but it is known to escape from surveillance cameras through the back lanes.

Police later arrested the two on one in Kuta thanks to information from the local hotel clerk on Wednesday (13/08/2014) morning.

In addition to secure the CCTV footage, the police also collected a number of items of evidence in between suitcases and some evidence in the victim’s room and suspects.(ant/oki)
