AirAsia Indonesia Appoints New Board Members

TRANSINDONESIA.CO – AirAsia Indonesia announced the appointment of two new board members, Marco Umbas as Commercial Director and Captain Ridzeki Wibowo as Director of Flight Operations.

Marco Umbas replaces Andy Adrian who now serves as Regional Head of Branding AirAsia Group, while Captain Ridzeki Wibowo replaces Captain Imron Fadhil Siregar who now assumes a new role as advisor to AirAsia Indonesia CEO.

They are both highly competent individuals with strong, extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry. Marco Umbas has more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry with expertise in Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining AirAsia Indonesia, Marco was General Manager of Garuda Indonesia’s offices in Japan, Germany, Spain and The United Kingdom. His remarkable performance led him to be promoted to Commercial Expert at the age of 43, where he was responsible for turning around the airline amidst a turbulent business environment and growing competition. Marco also held several strategic positions in Gapura Angkasa, such as Senior Vice President Marketing and Business Development and Senior Vice President of Human Capital and Quality Assurance.

Meanwhile, Captain Ridzeki Wibowo is a senior pilot with over 16.000 flying hours. Captain Ridzeki was previously with AirAsia Berhad where he was an instructor on Airbus A320-200 and Boeing 737-300/400, as well as an instructor of Crew Resources Management (CRM). Prior to joining AirAsia in September 2004, Captain Ridzeki built a 17-year career with Garuda Indonesia, where he acquired solid experience in operating different aircraft types, among others, Fokker 28, Boeing 737-400/800, MD-11ER, Boeing 747-200 and Boeing 747-400.(syaf)
